A shooting Friday night left two people injured, according to a spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

Wichita police Sgt. Troy Nedbalek said two men walked into Wesley Medical Center after a shooting near 17th and Hillside. The shooting occurred at about 11 p.m. in the 1600 block of North Lorraine, he said.

One man reported that he had been shot in the left knee while a second man was shot in the left rib cage area, Nedbalek said. He said a suspect had been identified but not located as of early Saturday afternoon.

Police are looking for a man in his mid-20s who may have had a purple .380 caliber handgun, Nedbalek said. The condition of the two men was not immediately available Saturday afternoon.
