Missing Winfield inmate captured
Authorities have in custody Bradley Wayne Struble, an inmate at Winfield Correctional Facility who was reported missing last week.
Struble, 37, was apprehended in Arkansas City at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Winfield facility.
Officers received a tip that led them to a family member’s home in Arkansas City, the release said.
Struble was taken into custody without incident and is being held in the Cowley County Jail. Along with charges related to his escape, Struble could face additional charges from the Winfield and Ark City area.
Struble is serving a sentence for violating parole, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections. His most recent criminal conviction, for battering a correctional officer, was in 2004. He also has convictions for aggravated burglary, robbery, criminal damage to property, theft and misdemeanor battery, corrections records show.
Struble was sent to Winfield Correctional Facility on Feb. 8. He was due to be released in October.
