Man stabbed in downtown Wichita

Police are investigating a stabbing reported late Tuesday night.

Someone called 911 just before 9 p.m. Tuesday to report seeing a man bleeding as he was walking near First and Waco, a Sedgwick County emergency dispatcher said. First responders found a 48-year-old man with a potentially serious stab wound in the area and took him to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis for treatment.

The man appeared to be homeless, the caller told 911. The circumstances of his injury have not been released.
