Three armed men forced their way into a house near Clapp Park and robbed the couple inside Tuesday night, police said.
The men broke the glass in a kitchen door at about 10 p.m. and got into the house in the 3800 block of East Funston, Lt. James Espinoza said. That’s southeast of Harry and George Washington Boulevard, west of Clapp Park.
They ordered the two adults – a 64-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman – and a 3-year-old boy to the floor at gunpoint and took an estimated $1,500 in cash, prescription medications and personal property before leaving the area on foot.
The adult male was bound with duct tape. A second boy, age 6, was asleep at the time of the break-in.
The couple said they did not know the robbers, Espinoza said. All three had guns and wore black ski masks. They appeared to be men in their 20s.
