The Wichita Police Department is searching for the driver of a pickup truck suspected of involvement in two hit-and-run crashes in the past week.

The first crash was reported at 3:43 p.m. on Friday at Meridian and Lydia, just north of Pawnee.

The driver of an older, faded blue Chevrolet pickup, described as an older white man, allegedly rear-ended a Ford Escape and then fled. The pickup had a 60-day tag. No injuries were reported.

A day later, the same pickup is suspected to be involved in an injury hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Pawnee and West.

At 3:26 p.m. on Saturday, the pickup allegedly struck a motorcycle, injuring the rider, before the driver fled.

According to a Facebook post from the department, it “is possible the driver works somewhere in the industrial corridor around West Street north of Pawnee.”

If anyone has information about the truck or the hit-and-runs, call 316-352-4871 or e-mail JBray@wichita.gov.
