Man opens car door, tries to pull driver out at Harry and Ellis
A man opened the door of a car that was stopped at Ellis and Harry at 7 p.m. Friday, hitting the driver with a blunt instrument and trying to pull him out of the car, police said Saturday.
The driver, a 20-year-old man, had been traveling north on Ellis when he was attacked, police Sgt. Mark Jackson said. The driver stayed secure in his seat belt and was able to hit the accelerator and get away with minor injuries to his head, Jackson said. A second man was standing behind the one who attacked, he said. No suspects were in custody.
