Kwik Shop clerk injured in early morning robbery

The clerk of a Kwik Shop was struck in the head during an early Sunday morning robbery in the 2800 block of East Douglas, police said.

The robbery happened at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Sgt. Joe Kennedy, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The 34-year-old clerk told police that two unknown men entered the store with handguns and demanded money, one striking him on the head, Kennedy said.

The men then took the cash and left the store in an unknown direction.

The clerk was transported to Wesley Medical Center.
