Man says he was stabbed during robbery attempt

A man told police that he was walking in the 700 block of North Nims on Friday afternoon when he was stabbed during a robbery attempt, police said Saturday.

Police responded to a call at 2:50 p.m. Friday from Via Christi Hospital St. Francis, where the man had walked after being injured, police Sgt. Joe Kennedy said. The man, who is 47, said that another man had demanded money from him, and, when he refused, the man stabbed him in the upper chest.

Police had no information about the extent of the man’s injuries.
