Wichita police looking for liquor store robbers

Two men who robbed J & D Wine & Liquor Mart, 1337 N. Ridge, Thursday night are still on the loose.

The two went into the liquor store at around 9:15 p.m. on Thursday and demanded the clerk give them money from the register. The clerk was the only person in the store.

During the robbery, one of the suspects fired a shot that hit the back door of the liquor store, but did not injure anyone. The men took the money and left, but police have yet to find them.

The clerk described the robbers to police as being about five-foot-five to five-foot-seven and around 170 pounds.

One wore a blue ski mask over his face. The other wore all black clothing with a zip-up hooded sweatshirt covering his face.

The liquor store could not immediately be reached for comment or for surveillance footage.
