Man robs grocery, smoke shop on West Harry
A man claiming to have a gun robbed a grocery and smoke shop on Harry Street late Tuesday night, police said.
The man walked into the Harry Grocery and Smoke Shop at 324 W. Harry, near Broadway, shortly before 9:15 p.m. Tuesday and told the employee he had a gun, Lt. James Espinoza said. He demanded money and Kansas Lottery tickets.
The employee complied, and the robber then demanded money from a customer in the store, Espinoza said. The 55-year-old customer gave him money as well.
The suspect is a black male in his 30s with a pitted complexion, Espinoza said. He weighs about 175 pounds and was wearing a blue coat with blue shoulder pad patches, a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants, with tan boots and white gloves.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111, Espinoza said.
