Pizza Hut delivery man robbed near Kellogg, Meridian (+video)
Two robbers didn’t get the cash they wanted from a pizza delivery man in west Wichita on Monday night.
Instead, they made off with everything else: two large pizzas, an order of chicken wings, a two-liter bottle of soda and a pizza thermal bag. The robbery occurred at about 8:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of South St. Clair, Lt. James Espinoza said. That’s near Kellogg and Meridian.
The 21-year-old Pizza Hut delivery man told police the two men held him up at gunpoint and then hit him on the back of the head four or five times with a blunt object as he was attempting to deliver the food, Espinoza said. Two strangers demanded cash, but the employee said he had none.
That’s when they took the food, drink and bag, Espinoza said. The stolen items were worth more than $50, he said. The victim was not seriously injured.
Both suspects were black men, the victim told police. They were both between the ages of 18 and 23 and both wore black hooded sweatshirts. One of the suspects is 5-foot-10 and 140 pounds, Espinoza said, while the other is about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds.
