Dollar General store robbed late Saturday night
A southeast Wichita Dollar General store was robbed late Saturday in the 4500 block of East Pawnee.
Two clerks were inside the store when a man walked in wearing dark pants, a hooded sweatshirt, skull mask with yellow, black and blue gloves, according to Sgt. Roger Runft, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
Although no clerks were at the counter when the man walked in, one approached the counter and asked the man to remove his mask. He raised it partially to show his mouth and told the clerk he wanted some Swisher Sweets, according to Runft.
As the clerk retrieved the cigars, the man placed a note on the counter that read “Give me cash, do not touch anything.”
The clerk handed the man money from the cash drawer, Runft said. The robber then left the store on foot.
No injuries were reported in the robbery.
