Christmas light fight ends in concussion by baseball bat, trip to jail

A 33-year-old man got a concussion and a trip to jail after he got in a fight with his domestic partner over Christmas lights early Saturday morning, police said.

The man called police at about 6:30 a.m. to say that his partner, a 44-year-old woman, swung a baseball bat at him during the argument, which happened in the 3900 block of West Second, said Sgt. Kevin Kochenderfer of the Wichita Police. The man was taken to the hospital with a concussion and then was taken to jail on unrelated warrants.

The woman also went to the hospital after cutting herself while on the attack. She was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery, booking records show.
