Goddard lawyer appointed as new district judge
Goddard attorney Kevin M. Smith was appointed as the newest judge to the 18th District Court, replacing outgoing Judge Eric R. Yost, according to a news release Wednesday from Gov. Sam Brownback’s office.
Yost announced in August he would be resigning to advise the Sedgwick County Commission as the county counselor.
Smith, who has previously served as assistant district attorney in Sedgwick County, has a private law practice in Wichita.
“I am pleased to appoint Kevin Smith to the 18th District Court,” Brownback said in the release. “His experience qualifies him to serve the citizens of the 18th District well.”
