Shot narrowly misses sleeping boy on couch
A teenage boy narrowly escaped injury in a drive-by shooting early Tuesday morning, police said.
A woman reported hearing one shot fired shortly after 1:35 a.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of South Santa Fe, Lt. James Espinoza said. That’s southeast of Pawnee and Broadway.
The bullet penetrated the front door of the residence and struck a couch where a 14-year-old boy was sleeping, Espinoza said. He was not hurt.
Seven other people were in the house, including five children ranging in age from 9 to 15 — including 14-year-old twin boys, Espinoza said.
A maroon vehicle was seen leaving the area just after the shooting, he said, but no one witnessed the shooting.
