Shot fired during robbery at North Broadway jewelry store
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a jewelry store near 21st and Broadway on Tuesday morning.
A man wielding a knife entered Kim Chi Jewelry Repairs, 2038 N. Broadway, at 10:08 a.m. and began taking jewelry, a caller told a Sedgwick County emergency dispatcher. At some point a shot was fired, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said.
One minor injury has been reported in connection with the incident, the supervisor said.
The suspect left the scene. He is described as a black male in his 20s who was wearing an orange hooded jacket, a dark cap and dark striped pants. He was carrying a gray backpack.
