Police: Man arrested after setting girlfriend’s car on fire
She went to her boyfriend’s house to pick up some belongings with her ex-boyfriend along to lend a hand at about noon Monday, police said.
The boyfriend didn’t like the fact that the 40-year-old woman’s ex was in the car, so he doused the passenger side of the vehicle in gasoline, Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza said. The car then caught fire.
The ex was able to put out the fire in the 1600 block of North Farrell, which is southwest of 21st and Arkansas.
“It wasn’t determined how the fire started,” Espinoza said.
Police were called and all three were questioned. The 39-year-old boyfriend was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of two counts each of aggravated arson and aggravated assault, Espinoza said.
