Shooting reported near 13th and Oliver

Two people were shot during a clash at a house near 13th and Oliver early Friday morning, authorities said.

The incident was reported at 1:10 a.m. in the 1100 block of North Glendale, a Sedgwick County emergency dispatch supervisor said. That’s southeast of 13th and Oliver.

Two men forced their way inside the house at 1121 N. Glendale and pepper-sprayed two men inside, one of them 19 and the other 23, Wichita police Lt. Steve Kenney said. One of the suspects then shot both victims before they left.

The victims were taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators are dealing with a language barrier, Kenney said, and have been able to obtain little information so far.
