Police: Grandma’s car stolen from grandson who had been drinking

An 82-year-old woman’s car was stolen early Friday morning from her grandson after he had been drinking with a female suspect, Wichita police said.

The 46-year-old grandson had been hanging out all day and drinking with a woman in her 30s, Lt. James Espinoza said. About 4 a.m., the woman drove the grandson in Grandma’s 1998 Toyota Camry to an area near Central and St. Paul.

After they arrived, two men approached the car, put a knife to the grandson’s neck and told him to get out. The two men and the woman drove off in Grandma’s car, Espinoza said.

The grandson told police he didn’t know the woman he had been drinking with and didn’t get her name.

Police are looking for the suspects and the Camry, which is described as blue with a personalized Kansas plate that says, “WONDRFL.”
