Registered sex offender from SW Kansas draws 20-year sentence for child porn

A southwest Kansas man who is a registered sex offender was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in prison on a federal child pornography charge.

Wade H. Dewey, 48, Syracuse, previously pleaded guilty to one count of possession child porn, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said in a news release. The sentencing took place in federal court in Wichita.

In his plea agreement, he admitted to possessing images and videos of child porn in August 2013 in Syracuse. He obtained the porn off the Internet.

Dewey was convicted in 1999 in Pueblo, Colo., on a charge of criminal attempt to commit sexual assault of a child.
