Man shot near 13th and Grove (+video)

A man has been hospitalized after he was shot just before noon near 13th and Grove, police said.

The shooting was reported at 11:59 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Piatt, Wichita police Lt. Don Phelps said. The man was shot in the torso and was transported to Wesley Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators aren’t sure at this point whether he was standing out in the street or on the sidewalk north of 12th Street when he was shot, Phelps said. No suspect description has been released yet.
