Wichita police search for man in rape near Ninth and Grove

Wichita police are looking for a suspect accused of beating and repeatedly raping his girlfriend Tuesday afternoon.

The 51-year-old victim told police she was attacked shortly before 2 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Spruce, Lt. James Espinoza said. She was taken to Wesley Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.

Officers are still looking for the 51-year-old man named as the perpetrator, Espinoza said.
