Man wearing canvas bag over head robs Family Dollar near Central, I-135

A man wearing a canvas bag over his head and holding a handgun robbed a Family Dollar store in east Wichita on Monday, police said.

The man came into the store at 2201 E. Central shortly before 2 p.m. and pointed a gun at two employees, Lt. James Espinoza said. The man took an undisclosed amount of money and walked west from the store.

The suspect is a 22-year-old white man who wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, a white undershirt, black skinny jeans and a white belt, Espinoza said. He wore gray tennis shoes with white on the bottom.

He also wore a canvas bag over his head with holes cut out for his eyes and nose, Espinoza said.
