Drive-by shooting reported at QuikTrip at Pawnee and Rock Road
Wichita police are investigating a drive-by shooting that happened early Sunday at a QuikTrip in southeast Wichita.
The shooting happened at about 12:30 a.m. at 2106 S. Rock Road.
A 29-year-old woman told police she heard seven gunshots that were fired toward her direction, said Sgt. Ed Brower, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department. Another woman, 28, reported that at the same time she saw a dark-colored SUV driving north.
One bullet struck the store’s glass door at the front entrance causing the glass to shatter, Brower said. A bullet fragment was found inside the store. A gas pump and store sign were also damaged.
No injuries were reported.
