Police look for suspect on bicycle in attack on Douglas
Police are looking for a man on a bicycle who is suspected of getting into an altercation with a woman in downtown Wichita last week and then attacking and seriously injuring her.
Investigators on Tuesday released security camera images of a black male wearing a black bicycle helmet, sunglasses, black gloves, a long-sleeve blue shirt and long blue pants. The video was taken immediately after the woman was attacked at about 3 p.m. Oct. 6 in the 600 block of East Douglas.
The victim told police the suspect yelled an obscenity at her, then approached and struck her, police say. She sustained severe head injuries and remains hospitalized.
