Wichita woman reports being abducted, held for nearly three days (+video)

Police are looking for a man after his ex-girlfriend reported being held at gunpoint for nearly three days.

The 31-year-old woman told police that her 42-year-old ex-boyfriend abducted her from a hotel in the 6100 block of West Kellogg at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Lt. Randy Reynolds said. He then took her to his house in the 700 block of South Hunter, where he kept her for more than two days.

He repeatedly struck her with his gun and choked her over the weekend at the residence which is just southeast of Kellogg and Woodlawn, Reynolds said. On Monday night, he drove her to a different motel on West Kellogg and released her.

She contacted police shortly after 10 p.m. Monday to report the incident. She was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment but not admitted.

“It doesn’t appear they were too severe,” Reynolds said of the woman’s injuries.

Nevertheless, he said, “any time you’re abducting somebody at gunpoint, it’s pretty serious.”

The victim was fortunate that he released her, Reynolds said.

“Certainly, it could have been a lot more tragic than it is already,” he said.
