Man arrested on suspicion of burglary, sexual assault after overnight break-in

Wichita police arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of residential burglary, aggravated sexual battery and unlawful restraint of a victim stemming from a break-in reported early Saturday morning, said Sgt. Brian Sigman.

A 50-year-old woman called to report that the man had forced his way into her home in the 9200 block of East Harry around 3:30 a.m. She said that he held her against her will and sexually assaulted her.

Police found the man a short time later and took him into custody. Sigman did not know for sure whether the suspect knew her attacker.
