Pizza Hut delivery man robbed near Oliver and Central
Police are looking for four suspects in connection with the robbery of a pizza delivery man Tuesday night.
The robbery occurred at about 7:30 p.m. in the 900 block of North Glendale, Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza said. That’s near Oliver and between Central and 13th.
The 19-year-old Pizza Hut delivery man was bringing pizzas to an apartment in that block when he realized it was vacant, Espinoza said. At about that time, four strangers in dark hooded sweatshirts approached him and ordered him at gunpoint into the vacant apartment.
There, they took his cellphone, wallet, cash and keys, Espinoza said. One of the robbers tried to drive off with the victim’s car but left it in the street when he had problems driving it.
The crime is the latest robbery of pizza delivery employees in the city, Espinoza said. There have been about a dozen so far in 2015, which represents an increase compared to the past few years.
