Woman in Batman mask robs convenience store
A woman wearing a Batman mask robbed a south Wichita convenience store Thursday, police said.
The woman entered the Friends Corner convenience store at 1131 E. 47th Street South at about 3:20 p.m. and demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk, Wichita police Lt. Joe Schroeder said. The clerk complied with the demand.
The robber, who never indicated she had a weapon, was wearing a blue Batman mask with pointed ears and a blue tie-dyed shirt, the clerk told police. She was about 5-feet-7 and had a medium build.
The suspect ran north on Laura after the robbery, the clerk told police. A short time later, a faded S10 Chevy Blazer or Ford Bronco left the area at a high rate of speed, Schroeder said, but the clerk did not see the suspect get into the vehicle.
