Arrest made in shooting outside south Wichita apartment complex
One person has been arrested in connection with a gang-related shooting in south Wichita that sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.
A 29-year-old man was shot twice in the chest shortly before 6 p.m. as he was walking outside an apartment complex at 888 S. Hydraulic, Wichita police Lt. Joe Schroeder said. He was taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis, where he is in serious condition.
A 27-year-old man was arrested at the complex at about 9 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a felon.
“We do believe this is gang-related,” Schroeder said. “At this point, no one is being cooperative with officers.”
