McDonald’s at 21st and Amidon robbed

An armed man in a brown hooded sweatshirt robbed the McDonald’s at 21st and Amidon early Tuesday, authorities said.

The robbery occurred at 5:10 a.m. at 2261 N. Amidon, a Sedgwick County emergency dispatch supervisor said. There were two employees in the store at the time.

The suspect tried to pull out a register before escaping with a small amount of money. He appears to be a tall white man in his 20s who wore light brown pants along with the sweatshirt.

He wore white tennis shoes and was armed with a silver .22 handgun. He left in a small, silver four-door truck.

No injuries were reported.
