Police: Man assaults girlfriend, kicks in her SUV (+video)

A 47-year-old woman was beaten by her 41-year-old boyfriend at about 7 p.m. Sunday, according to Wichita police.

The boyfriend struck her in the throat and slapped her numerous times, according to what a witness told police. He then took her necklace and purse, police said, and kicked in the rear door of her SUV, causing $4,000 in damage. It happened at a house in the 900 block of North Mount Carmel, which is near Central and Zoo Boulevard.

The boyfriend was booked into Sedgwick County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery, domestic violence battery and vandalism, according to Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza.
