Man, two women robbed at gunpoint Sunday near Harry and Edgemoor

A man was held at gunpoint and two women had their purses stolen during a robbery Sunday afternoon in southeast Wichita.

Sgt. Bob Gulliver said officers were called at 2 p.m. Sunday to the area of 1600 S. Parkwood — near Harry and Edgemoor — where an 18-year-old man, a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman reported they had been walking when they were approached by two men in their 20s.

One of the men pulled out a handgun and placed it to the male victim’s head, Gulliver said, while the other man took the women’s purses. Both men then ran away.

“Officers checked the area but the suspects were not located,” Gulliver said.
