Man in stable condition after being shot near Pawnee and Hillside

A 22-year-old man was shot in the leg and pelvis early Sunday morning near Pawnee and Hillside, police said.

The incident happened at 4:10 a.m., according to Sgt. Ed Brower, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

Shell casings and blood were located in the 2600 block of South Holyoke. The man was taken by private vehicle to Via Christi Hospital St. Joseph before being transported to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis by EMS. He was in stable condition.

The man offered police officers little information, Brower said. No witnesses to the shooting were located.
