Police: Woman tries to rob QuikTrip on South Seneca

A 20-year-old clerk at a QuikTrip on South Seneca said a woman came into the convenience store at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday demanding money.

The woman did not have a weapon, said Sgt. John Hoofer of the Wichita Police Department.

The clerk said the woman was about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 130 pounds with black hair. The woman, in her mid-30s, was wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, a black vest and a black-and-white ballcap, the clerk told police. She was with two men. The clerk described one of the men as in his 30s between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall and 150 pounds with brown hair and wearing a red long-sleeved shirt and jeans. The other man was described as being in his late 30s to early 40s with black hair and wearing a green plaid shirt and jeans.

Customers walked in during the attempted robbery, Hoofer said. No one was hurt.

The three left in a newer model Dodge Neon with a spoiler, Hoofer said.

Police are still investigating.
