Woman reports abduction attempt near Oaklawn
Police are investigating an attempted abduction early Wednesday morning.
A 54-year-old woman told police she was walking in the 2000 block of East Mona at about 7 a.m. Wednesday when she was flagged down by a man in a green Mustang, Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza said. That’s southwest of 47th South and Hydraulic near Oaklawn.
When the woman approached the car to answer his questions, he grabbed her by the right arm and tried to pull her into the car, Espinoza said.
She was able to pull away and the suspect drove off, heading west on Mona and then north on Hydraulic. The woman said he was a white male about 5-feet-9 and 150 pounds. He had brown hair and brown eyes and had a mustache and goatee.
He also had a tattoo sleeve with one or more skulls on his right arm. The Mustang had rust on the rear driver’s side and there was trash and several beer cans inside the car.
“The victim had a very good description,” Espinoza said.
Investigators would like to hear from anyone with information related to the suspect. They can call 316-268-4646.
