Suspect sought in Newton stabbing

Authorities are still looking for a man wanted in connection with a stabbing in Newton on Thursday night.

Newton Police reported a woman was stabbed multiple times shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday in the 100 block of West Second Street.

“A domestic violence dispute spilled out in front of the residence and a female victim was stabbed multiple times,” a statement posted on the Newton Police Department’s Facebook page said. “The woman was rendered unconscious due to the trauma and was taken to Wichita by Newton EMS, where she remains in critical condition.”

Several witnesses have cooperated with investigators in the case, the statement reads, and authorities have identified Gregory P. Moseley, 39, as the suspect in the stabbing.

“Do not approach him or try to confront him,” Newton police say in the statement.

Anyone with information about Moseley’s location is asked to call 911 or submit a tip anonymously through an app on the Facebook page.
