A Wichita man is facing a charge in federal court after he allegedly distributed child pornography on social media.

A federal grand jury indicted 25-year-old Colton Wiggins on Tuesday after prosecutors say he used a computer to share child sexual abuse material in February. Wiggins was originally charged through a June complaint with one count of distribution of child pornography, court records show. Wiggins is in custody while awaiting trial, records say.

He was charged after authorities received cybertips in February and March about someone using Wiggins’ cloud storage and social media accounts to share the illegal images. Investigators discovered at least 191 files containing suspected child porn in Wiggins’ Dropbox account, including videos of toddlers, an affidavit says.

They found at least 20 more during a search associated with his Snapchat account, according to the affidavit.

One video featuring a man raping and sodomizing a girl younger than five was shared with another Snapchat user on Feb. 10, the affidavit says.

When interviewed, Wiggins told investigators that the Dropbox and Snapchat accounts, as well as a Reddit account under investigation, belonged to him, the affidavit says.

He also admitted to seeing at least one child in a video when he was using Telegram, a messaging application, according to the document.

If convicted, Wiggins could be sent to prison for five to 20 years.
