One person in critical condition, dog dead after building fire in Park City
One person was in critical condition Wednesday morning after a fire at a building in Park City, according to Sedgwick County officials.
Ray Hensley, a deputy chief for Sedgwick County Fire District 1, said a report of a fire in the 300 block of West 61st Street, near 61st and Broadway, in Park City came in just after 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Firefighters found a metal building engulfed in flames. Hensley said a woman told them her husband was still inside the structure.
Hensley said both the man and woman were injured.
One person was taken to a Wichita hospital and was in critical condition as of late Wednesday morning. The other person suffered minor injuries, but refused transport.
Hensley said three dogs were found at the scene, though one dog died. Investigators were still looking into what caused the fire as of late Wednesday morning.
The Wichita Fire Department and the Valley Center Fire Department responded to assist.
