Investigation underway after man found fatally wounded in downtown Wichita

Investigators are asking the public for tips after a 59-year-old Wichita man was found shot downtown.

The man, who has not been identified, died at a hospital after being found inside his car around 11:44 Sunday morning, Wichita police said in a press release. Although he was found in the 400 block of North Market, police said the 59-year-old had been shot before arriving there.

“Investigators are using every tool available to the department to determine what led up to this shooting and the person or people responsible,” the press release said.

Wichita police are asking anyone with information to contact detectives at 316-268-4407, or leave information anonymously via CrimeStoppers at 316-267-2111.
