62-year-old arrested after two people found shot in north Wichita
Wichita police have arrested a 62-year-old man after two men were found shot in north Wichita.
The man was armed but was detained without incident after the shooting, which was reported about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Wichita police said in a press release Thursday.
In the 1100 block of North Broadway, police found a 49-year-old man who had been shot in his upper and lower extremities, the release said.
Using a description of the suspected shooter and his vehicle, officers found and arrested the 62-year-old near 13th and West. During the investigation, police then found a second victim, a 36-year-old man, nearby who had been shot in his upper body, police said.
Both injured men were taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, the release said. The 62-year-old was booked into jail on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated battery, criminal discharge of a firearm into an occupied building and criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
