66-year-old arrested in connection with homicide at Lake Afton campgrounds

A man has been booked into jail after his girlfriend died at Lake Afton’s campgrounds late Friday night.

The woman’s boyfriend called 911 at 10:45 p.m. on Friday, reporting that 55-year-old Dorothy Finley was deceased inside their camper, according to a news release from the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office. Sedgwick County Fire confirmed that Finley was dead at 10:54 p.m.

Sedgwick County deputies found Finley with multiple head injuries consistent with blunt force trauma. Her boyfriend, 66, was taken into custody and has been booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and domestic aggravated battery.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s office is investigating the homicide.
