One woman dead after hit-and-run on Friday night. WPD asking for public’s help

A hit-and-run crash left one woman dead Friday night in west Wichita

Wichita Police officers responded to an incident in the 3400 block of West Taft that involved one vehicle and one pedestrian at about 11:23 p.m., the department said in a Saturday afternoon press release. When officers arrived, they found a 38-year-old woman in critical condition. The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The vehicle involved, which is described as a white SUV and could have front-end damage, has not been found, the WPD said.

The department is requesting the public’s help in finding the vehicle. Anyone with information can call 316-350-3672 or anonymously at 316-267-2111.
