Sheriff’s office investigating mobile home shooting that left 14-year-old dead

Detectives are investigating what happened at a south Wichita mobile home park after a 14-year-old boy was shot and killed early Tuesday morning.

No arrests have been made in connection with the fatal shooting of Jesus Merino Terrero, a spokesperson with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body around 3 a.m. Tuesday, April 28. He died at the scene, a mobile home park in the 3200 block of East MacArthur.

An autopsy has since been completed. A sheriff’s spokesperson confirmed that everyone involved in the shooting has been identified.
