The Wichita Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting that left one man dead and another injured.

Officers were dispatched to Kellogg and Dugan at 1:57 a.m. after reports of gunfire. The officers found evidence of a disturbance in a parking lot in the 6300 block of W. Kellogg once they arrived, according to a police news release.

A separate call was then received of two adult males arriving at a hospital with gunshot wounds. A 54-year-old man suffered severe injuries, while a 37-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the police department. The 54-year-old is in stable condition.

The press release said the shooting likely occurred after a disturbance but is still being investigated.

“Investigators are in the early stages of the investigation and are actively interviewing witnesses and gathering additional information,” the press release reads.

If you have information on the shooting, WPD asks that you contact them at 316-268-4407 or anonymously at 316-267-2111.
