A Sedgwick County detention deputy has been arrested and accused of buying sexual relations.

The 22-year-old deputy was booked into the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility on Saturday, April 4, on suspicion of a misdemeanor charge of buying sexual relations, a press release from the sheriff’s office said on Monday. The Eagle does not name people who have been arrested unless they are charged.

The deputy has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation. He has been with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s office since February 2024.

“The Sheriff’s Office remains committed to upholding strong ethical standards and operating with integrity,” the press release reads. “When concerns arise involving any employee, the office takes immediate action to ensure accountability and to maintain the confidence of the community it serves.”
