The discovery of old explosive material “similar to dynamite” in an Augusta mobile home on Wednesday prompted a multi-agency response to remove it, authorities said.

A single stick labeled “Iremite 42” and “Explosives” was found while a woman was cleaning out a mobile home in the 11000 block of southwest Shumway in rural Augusta, according to a Butler County Sheriff’s Office watch summary. The woman had recently purchased the property through probate, the summary says, and she believed the previous owner of the property and ordnance had died.

After finding the explosive around 3:20 p.m., the woman called 911. Officers from several law enforcement agencies responded to investigate and remove it, including Butler County deputies, the Augusta Department of Public Safety Fire Division, the Wichita police bomb squad, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, a press release from Butler County Sheriff’s Office says.

Members of the Wichita police bomb squad removed the item and took it to a facility for disposal, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office said. There will not be a criminal investigation.
