Police have arrested a 45-year-old Mulvane man in connection with a cutting that happened in southwest Wichita.

The call came in early Wednesday morning in the 2900 block of South Richmond.

When officers arrived, a 42-year-old Wichita woman was suffering from a puncture wound to her upper torso, , Wichita Police Information Officer Kris Gupilan said. She was taken to a medical facility with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Gupilan said the two people knew each other.

The police department’s domestic intervention and violence reduction team found the man and took him into custody without incident, Gupilan said. He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery and aggravated burglary.

The case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for formal charging consideration.
