Homeowner shoots intruder inside his southeast Wichita home
A homeowner shot a burglar he found inside his southeast Wichita home early Friday morning, police said.
A 40-year-old man was shot in the leg, police said, adding that he was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition. He will be taken to jail after he is released, police said.
Police were called at 4:42 a.m. Friday to the shooting in the 12000 block of East Blake, which is near Pawnee and Oliver. A 56-year-old man shot the intruder inside his home, police said.
“The investigation determined the 40-year-old male was burglarizing the home,” police said. “A confrontation occurred inside the residence, and a shot was fired by the homeowner striking the suspect in the leg.”
