Just after 7 p.m. on Friday evening, Wichita Police responded to a crash between a sedan and a motorcycle at 42nd South and Seneca.

In a press release, Wichita police said the 61-year-old driver of the sedan was traveling north on Seneca when he attempted to make a left turn on to 42nd. His car struck the 27-year-old motorcyclist, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor to the crash.

While still to be presented to the district attorney’s office for formal charges, the 61-year-old man has been booked on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the press release. The investigation is ongoing.
